Teleflex Medical OEM to Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Expanded Manufacturing Facility
Raleigh, NC, Teleflex Medical OEM, a global leader in custom catheter fabrication, precision extrusion, and medical devices, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official completion of facility renovations and a significant expansion which began 12 months ago. The invitation-only event will take place on July 22, 2011 at Teleflex Medical OEM's Plymouth, MN facility.
Notable guests expected to attend include Congressman Erik Paulsen (R-MN), local government officials, and senior management representatives of Teleflex Medical OEM, a business unit of Teleflex Incorporated.
Increased, worldwide demand for the business' TFX OEM® brand of custom-configured catheters, extrusion, and medical devices led to the need for increased capacity. The latest expansion brings the Plymouth facility to well over 30,000 square feet and increases monthly capacity to 50,000 units. This multi-million dollar expansion includes additional space for offices and support services, enhanced R&D facilities, and sufficient production capability to allow Teleflex Medical OEM to meet customer demands for innovative medical devices.
Greg Forrest, General Manager of the Plymouth facility, commented, "This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is an outstanding addition to our global network of facilities for the design, engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing of medical devices. It positions Teleflex Medical OEM for continued international growth and success."
During the past year, Teleflex Medical OEM created 30 new positions at the Plymouth facility to bring the headcount to 230. The business anticipates an additional 10 new positions to address escalating market demand for their medical products.
The access and procedural devices produced at the Plymouth facility are used in cardiology, neurology, radiology, urology, and other medical interventional procedures.
