Material: Polyglycolic acid (PGA)
Coating: Polyglyd® (polycaprolactone glycerylmonostearate) coating allows the suture to glide through tissue smoothly, reducing friction between the tissue and the suture for minimal tissue trauma.
Characteristics: Bondek® suture offers outstanding smoothness, lubricity, and knotability. The suture has high initial tensile strength during the critical wound healing period; then it breaks down evenly and predictably, reducing painful “spitting”.
Indications: Bondek® is cleared by the FDA for use is general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological procedures.
