Materials:

  • White: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)
  • Blue/white cobraid: UHMWPE with blue polypropylene
  • Black/white cobraid: UHMWPE with black nylon 6,6

Coating: None

Characteristics: Force Fiber® exhibits easy handling, outstanding knot and tensile strength, and lubricity. During knotting, Force Fiber® has a flatter profile than most polyester and polyblend sutures to allow smaller knots and for each successive knot to better lock up against the last.

Indications: Force Fiber® is indicated for use in approximation and/or ligation of soft tissue, including the use in cardiovascular surgeries and use of allograft tissue for orthopedic surgeries. Please note: Force Fiber® suture is indicated for cardiovascular use only in the United States.

Sizes:

  • White: 5 through 5-0, 2mm tape
  • Blue/white cobraid: 5 through 5-0
  • Black/white cobraid: 5 through 5-0

Please note: Specifications in the chart are United States Pharmacopeia (USP) requirements. Teleflex Medical OEM’s sutures meet or exceed USP minimums.

Construction: Braided

Colors:

  • White (colorant: none)
  • White/blue cobraid (blue polypropylene colorant is [phthalocyaninato (-2)] copper)
  • White/black cobraid (black nylon 6,6 colorant is logwood extract)

Sterilization: Ethylene oxide (EtO)

Important: Gamma sterilization is not recommended for Force Fiber® UHMWPE suture due to potential loss of suture strength.

Configurations:

  • Sterile, private labeled product
  • Bulk, non-sterile spool
  • Cut lengths
  • Configured with needle
